LOVE IN A COLD CLIMATE

In a season all about love we thought we'd get all soppy and speak to two couples about love at first sight, winter style and going home for Christmas.

Kim Taylor-Bennett & Davo McConville

Kim laughs as she recalls her and Davo's 'cliché' introduction; the couple met when Kim, a successful journalist and presenter, video interviewed Davo's band "I got so excited talking about a shared love of Arrest and Development that I accidentally pressed stop on the video recorder". Now five years on and one engagement ring later we meet the contagiously happy pair in their London flat where they reside with a teetering stack of books, vintage furniture and a gold fish called Dion. Timeless style is Davo's signature look which he insists is easy, "my wardrobe is made up of multiple white t-shirts and black jeans, I'm never wondering what to wear and I'm always comfortable," while Kim has to regularly dress-up for her T.V. show 'From the Red Carpet' which she pulls off effortlessly with the aid of her mother's impressive vintage wardrobe and loans from her fashion designer mates.

James Willis & Jade Gough

In a twist-of-fate that wouldn't be out of place in a rom-com, James and Jade grew up one street away from each other in Grimsby but only officially met in London two years ago at a Halloween party, 'James was wearing a cops and robbers mask but I vaguely recognised him as a Grimsby boy so we got talking and I offered to show him around town," tells Jade who moved to London five years ago to study photography at xxx. James, a film director who's made films for the likes of Mark Ronson and The Maccabees, looks forward to going home for Christmas, "living and working in London can feel really hectic so going back to Grimsby together is amazing, it's become our tradition to pack mince pies and a flask of mulled wine for the train journey."
